I am an experienced, qualified teacher of an age that might make you wonder if I have even heard of emerging technologies let alone used them! I have worked in the same school for many years, the past 10 of which I have been the IT Coordinator – now that has been a vertical learning curve! A few years back I thought I had a reasonable understanding of the use of technology as a tool in the classroom. Then along came web2.0……..
Blogging – hmm! A definition of a Blog is “an online web log” but what does that mean? It is a way of conversing with others. A place to write your thoughts, views, findings and opinions on just about anything you like. A place where you can read and comment on other people’s thoughts, views, findings and opinions. A place where the political, religious or other bias of a publisher can be questioned, nullified and even corrected. A democracy!
I am excited to be creating this blog. A blog to write my thought’s, views, findings and opinions on the innovations I am going to come in contact with this semester. Which ones will I incorporate into my teaching in the future?
